Reflection

I have long dreaded the “normalcy” that many class curriculums tend to follow. Upon taking this class I believed I would be delving into a common classroom filled with basic literary studies. Yet serendipity had struck the moment I stepped foot into Professor Brady’s English 102 course at Farmingdale State College. It was the first time I had encountered someone so passionate about their craft. The utter enthusiasm she provoked resonated with my classmates.

Many have come and gone, attempting to understand and unleash my shackled ambition. But it is not without inspiration that one allows themselves to prosper with determination. I find the greatest inspiration within the everyday person. Professor Brady does not hesitate waking up every morning to instruct and captivate young minds. This dedication did not go unnoticed.

The source of my success comes from the peaceful atmosphere presented in class. I am a firm believer that every thought deserves to be heard. Sometimes we tend to be afraid of outside criticism. We keep quite and let our ideas fade away into our distant memory. That was not the case within this group. The open-minded sincerity of each and every one of my peers encouraged me to perform better and better with each passing day. I am honored to have been part of a class with so many intelligent and kind people.

My writing will only continue to improve. I hope to one day find myself in a creative profession that allows me to think freely. It is without a doubt that I will carry on the knowledge I gained from this course and utilize it to its maximum potential. It will serve as a constant reminder that people can come together and create amazing ideas when allowed to voice their own opinions.

This experienced has changed my life forever. To those who decide to read this through, I offer you a notion I live by. Life is only limited by the limits you place upon yourself.
